Cozy, versatile apartment, not demanding in terms of renovation expenses. Particular, impactful and with the authentic spirit of a typical Milanese house. This is the brief of the owners of the house on Watt Street, a neighborhood undergoing high development. An apartment intended for short rentals with an eye for detail and functionality. The initial floor plan was completely revised. Thus a small one-bedroom apartment became an extremely versatile space: thanks to a sliding panel, the kitchen and bedroom can become one flexible and bright space.

Project Details.

The light works very well with these spaces thanks to the shades chosen for the walls. The color palette was designed from the hues of the cement tiles, existing flooring and intentionally maintained. Pale pink, gray and light blue create the right contrast with the black present in both the cement tiles and the decorative elements. The furnishings complete the mood of the environment rich in suggestions and references to the history of design from the 1920s to the 1970s.

Thus were included the screen from the 1920s-30s that picks up the decoration of the floor frame, the famous Cesca seat designed by Marcel Breuer that with Vienna straw generates plays of light and shadow, and finally Giotto Stoppino’s magazine rack from the 1970s designed for Kartell, again in the house shades.
