Consisting of a living area, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom, the apartment has become a space for experimentation where the northern European context combines with the southern origins of the hosts, an Italian couple who moved to London.

Project Details.

Modern solutions with classic Milanese twentieth-century motifs and solid reliefs are juxtaposed with 1980s design elements. Venetian terrazzo does not cover the floor but becomes the patterned upholstery of the living room armchairs and the panels behind the headboard of the bed in the master bedroom. A metaphysical arch and low relief (plaster curtain) create atmospheres of the Italian 1930s exemplified by the female sculpture wrapped in a folded robe. Another world, the mysterious one, is revealed not only through matter but also through sensations aroused by the elements thus combined. Mirrored surfaces create the illusion of a second living room here separated by the plaster curtain. The same method was employed in the guest room.
The combination of the two souls also occurs in the palette: the dark colors of the North and the bright colors of the South, the herringbone parquet and the seeded effect, the linearity of the metal parts and the vibrant line of textiles, modernity and heritage.
