Interior Design & Styling

The project involves the restyling of a large apartment in the Milan 2 area. Here the real challenge was to intervene in an already designed and defined environment that, however, did not reflect the clients “character. In fact, we started from an existing floor plan of which we kept only the parquet floor and the wall elements of the kitchen, intervening in the choice of furniture and finishes. The clients” classic and elegant taste was the starting point and strength of our intervention.
The client, Marcella Galantino, a 38-year-old manager in Coca-cola of Valtellina origin who over the years has lived in several foreign countries first for study and then for work, recounts her experience, “I love customization and attention to detail, I like to have a style that reflects me, and I love to do the same in the home because I believe that the place where we live should, not only be a pleasant place to come back to at the end of the day, but should be able to tell about us.”

Project Details.

The main space is the living room, which was designed to accommodate a large dining area enhanced by a table with armchairs at which a striking hanging lamp was placed, composed of multiple circular elements in mother-of-pearl by Verpan. The other part of the room, however, was designed as a relaxation area with contemporary-style furniture such as the sofa and armchair upholstered in a pumpkin-colored fabric that contrasts with the neutral tones used for the rest of the room. A custom wall was also designed that includes the bookcase and a bio-fireplace fully recessed and flush with the structure covered with a marble effect. Detail accentuating the clients’ classic style was the wood paneling applied as decoration to embellish the walls.
When we saw the large opening to the terrace then, it was impossible not to propose to the clients a large slim frame window that we, and they, immediately fell in love with. This allowed us to get a very bright environment and to have more continuity between inside and outside. As for the kitchen environment, on the other hand, the wallpaper on the front wall of the island, equipped with stools, which recalls the theme of nature, is of strong impact.
This theme served as a common thread among the different spaces recalling “The Secret Keys” repurposed in the hallway and the headboard wall of the master bedroom. What inspired us is the rich vegetation that can be glimpsed from the windows of the apartment that enraptured us from the first meeting with the clients in their home.
